Avery Dulles was a famous American Theologian, Jesuit priest, Professor, Author, and cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was born on 24 August 1918 in Auburn, New York, U.S. He died on 12 December 2008 at the age of 90 in New York City, U.S. He was buried in Jesuit Cemetery in New York City. He received early education from his hometown St. Bernard’s School. Then he studied at Choate School and Harvard College.
He received numerous awards in his life including the Boston College Presidential Bicentennial Award, America magazine’s Campion Award, John Carroll Society Medal, Fordham Founders Award, Gaudium Award from the Breukelein Institute, and Thirty-three honorary doctorates.
